Had great weekend. Had close friends from Prescott come to visit. We hadn't seen them for a few years. We spent all day visiting the "Old Yuma" area downtown. there are 5 or 6 really great little antique stores. I bought two bags of old, little pen knives for $15.00. We had lunch at "Lutes Casino" which is a Yuma landmark. We played card games Fri/Sat. night and I got my ass beat both nights! This was the weekend for the "Bashfords Campout" over at the Salton Sea. Our friends visit was much more fun / important than sleeping in the rocks and visiting with all our biker trash buddies. Besides we're planning on attending the Death Valley Rally on the 13th thru 16th. So we'll likely see everyone over there anyway. We hope to take at least a full week and go on a longer road trip after Death Valley. I'd like to tour some other areas of AZ. after leaving the Death Valley Rendezvous. Attending Death Valley will depend on the weather. Every few years the rally is a wet one, which I'm not into. If the weather looks bad up there, we will go south to the Mexican Border over near Nogales AZ, then head north up into the southern mountains in central AZ.
I spent one full day tearing into the Green Toasted bike. Found many things which a previous owner butchered. He wrecked a lot of good parts by jury rigging things, drilling holes and welding things to the frame. So far I don't see that the wiring harness was messed with too much so it may be salvageable. Now that I've torn into it I'm thinking I paid a bit too much for it. I'm sure it will bring in some money in parts but so many parts are ruined.......I have 18 auctions going on eBay at the moment. Three previously listed items sold this morning for a loss of about $50.00. These were items I bought for the sidecar project and then couldn't use. I definitely paid too much for them. Oh well, live and learn.
We drove to Las Vegas this afternoon as I need to be to work very early in the morning. I ran another "fishing" ad on the Yuma craigslist this morning. We'll see what might be rusting in Yuma.
