Winter Storm "Boreas"?

Now they are naming snow storms?
Regardless of a name, this storm has us stuck in Deming NM. We departed Alamogordo NM yesterday @ noon, hoping to get into AZ. late yesterday but didn't quite make it. Weather was good over the mtn. pass to Las Cruces, but began to deteriorate. Upon getting to Deming, the weather ahead looked bad so we stopped. Rain turned to snow in the early evening. We woke to about 2" - 3" everywhere. Parked in a vacant gravel lot right along main street. No one has run us off yet. Looks like we'll sit here until tomorrow. I can see the interstate from here and traffic is moving at a crawl. We could probably head West, but don't want to drive in icy conditions.
update:
The majority of the 3" - 4" snow melted off by mid afternoon. We contemplated a few hour run today but decided to sit tight.
Supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Going to get down to 23* here tonight so the furnaces will be running pretty steady to keep from freezing up.
Should be somewhere in western AZ. tomorrow night. It is about 450 miles to "home" from here so don't plan on making it in one day.

i didn't know that they named storms either. The NWS must need something to do…

I didn't know that NM was that high. Oh well, enjoy the extra day or two on the road. No need to rush if you don't have to!
