This fellow in Nevada might have needed help.....I didn't like the looks of him so just waved and passed him by.......
This site started out as a way to track a BMW / Jupiter Sidecar motorcycle project. It has gone in many different directions since its' conception. From motorcycle projects, to personal stories, opinions and family histories. I log most of our boring motorcycle riding adventures and experiences. I have completed my "R100S/6" build and changes are on-going.

Old Rural Texas Day 2
Old Rural Texas Day 1
A couple hours from "home" I got mixed in with this group (or should I say grope) ride.....one sidecar in the herd.....a Hannigan something or other.......big.....looked comfy inside.
There were a number of big tire chopper rigs.....driver sure didn't look very comfortable going down the road.
Fairly large bunch...they rode way too close together and when someone up front slowed it was like an accordion........some not paying close attention had a surprise.....riding like this is not for me.
Some nice country out here.
A group of old aluminum wind powered generators...they were nearly all spinning. Caught my attention from quite a few miles out. On closer inspection I could see that they were not wired in. They have probably been spinning for no reason for a lot of years.
Made it to Copper Breaks Park for the night...it was uncomfortably hot until late at night. The insects were minimal until nightfall...then they seemed to rain down from the trees.

Only things living in this old place were the spiders, lots of them...and big ones.
This says 102....someone a few miles back at a gas stop said it was 109......felt like 109

Had a late night visit from a raccoon...he must have wanted a pear I left in a bag on the table. He was persistent so I hung the bag from a lantern hook.

Another Texas Storm............
Monday night another big storm blew through. There was lightening off in the distance all evening and at 1:00AM the storm hit us. The wind was so terrific that I thought it was going to roll the motorhome over....a lot of bad sounds coming from outside. The intense movement knocked over photos on the kitchen counter. I inspected everything the next morning and saw no damage here. Later in the day I looked down the row in the RV Park and realized that a guy on the end was missing the tail end of his trailer......I could see the back side of his drawers / cabinets. It rained again last night so he tarped it off and is working on some sort of repair today..........good luck.
Probably has some good ventilation now............

We're not in Kansas anymore?
Darian was sentence to time in the hoosegow at the Dalton Place..................
Liberal Kansas ................guess who came from here? Well Dorothy of course.......I guess the Munchkins shipped her house back from OZ....................
Meade Kansas was a hide out for the infamous 1800's Dalton Gang.
This reportably was their joint..............for a "nominal fee" we could have gone in..........it was closed.

We fought 20-30 MPH head & leftside winds all the way to Texas. 50 miles from home the old BMW crapped out on me. Started hitting only on one cylinder. I reached down while moving and pulled the left plug wire and ....no change. Luckily a picnic area was up the road so pulled in and started checking things over. Plugs were a bit sooty so cleaned them & swapped them side to side. Ran it down the road a mile and still missing. Had good spark / compression so decided that a carb problem was the deal. Pulled the left side carb diaphragm and it was split wide open. I've seen them fail a little at a time with pin holes but never saw one come apart like this.............
Of course I carry an extra one...........three to be exact.......a quick change and away we go.....First time the old Hag has ever bit the dust on the road...........home safe and sound at 5:30 PM. We've now gone North / South / East / West..............we'll need to get creative for the next trip....
